Requirements for Services
We serve caregivers, as well as the elderly, or physically challenged neighbors, needing supplemental and non-medical assistance to continue living in their homes.
If you are
- residing in Tippecanoe County,
- or you are a caregiver
we may assist with
- respite breaks,
- grocery shopping,
- errand running,
- and transportation to necessary appointments.
Volunteers usually help about once a week. The needs of those we serve and the number of volunteers determines the help we can give. Please note our volunteers are not professionally trained and should not assist with skilled care, medical duties or other things that require a certification, license or special training. If you require specialized or professional care, please refer to another local agency listed on the resources page.
Request a Caregiver Volunteer Now
If you meet the above criteria, you may be eligible for services. It may take a few weeks before services begin, so please call us to make a home visit soon! Contact the office at (765) 423-1879 or fill out the form below to schedule an in-home assessment. We will come to your home and get to know you more so that we may suitably place you with an appropriate volunteer and ask that you sign a waiver and an informed consent before we ask a volunteer to assist you.
Caregiver Support Group
Caregiver Companion facilitates a caregiver support group on the first Tuesday of every month from 1:30 pm until 3:15 pm. The meeting is held at St. Ann’s Church in the Joseph Behler Center at 612 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette, IN. The group is currently led by the Caregiver Companion Executive Director, Diana Salazar. The support group strives to create an atmosphere where caregivers can vent their frustrations and can find resources and connections to help alleviate their stress.
If you would like to learn more about joining our support group, please contact Diana at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 765-423-1879.
