“I was going on 38 years at my job when I got the phone call that my mom had a severe stroke. She couldn’t walk, talk, or use her right side when I quit my job to take care of her at home.
Without stepping outside of the house for several weeks I began to be withdrawn. It was obvious I needed a break. Caregiver Companion gave me time away, and I felt uplifted and ready to cope once again with my daily care for mom. Caregiver Companion was there for me many times in the following seven and a half years while I took care of mom and it was so good to know I could count on them.
After mom died I wanted to help Caregiver Companion so I began to drive for them, take people to appointments, wait on them, and then take them home. I have met all types of people, in all walks of life, and it’s so interesting visiting with them.
Now, after several years, my deformed knees are worse and weaker and walking has become hard to do. I need help getting to appointments when it is a long walking distance to the doctor’s office, and Caregiver Companion has come in so handy for me. I’d be up a creek without their assistance now and then.”
Caregiver Companion is an outstanding group. They are not about power or prestige, they are about caring for human beings who need assistance in many areas and are willing to go out of their way to give people the help they need.
